In the NBA, it’s very rare to have one lone star carry their entire team to success. Stars in this league need as much help as possible- no matter how good you are.
The NBA has some dynamic duos, who play for some of the best teams in the league. Some of these duos include: LeBron James & Anthony Davis (LAL), Kawhi Leonard & Paul George (LAC), Nikola Jokic & Jamal Murray (DEN), Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving (BKN), Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons (PHI), and of course, Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown (BOS).
To give you guys my hot take: Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown this season are a top 3 NBA duo.
If you haven’t seen or even heard of what Tatum & Brown have been doing this year, chances are you’ve been living under a rock. The Celtics currently hold a 7-3 record in the eastern conference, and these two studs are 99.8% of the reason why they’ve been so dominant (Payton Pritchard’s game winner 0.1%). Jayson Tatum has taken a leap, averaging 26.9 Points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, while shooting 48% from the field and 43% from 3 point range. It was almost a forgone conclusion that he’d be putting up these numbers, mainly due to the hype and projections the entire league & experts predicted.
It hasn’t just been the Jayson Tatum show, because Jaylen Brown has taken a leap too.
This was sort of expected heading to this season, but not to this extent. Since the start of the year, Jaylen Brown taken the league by storm, with averages of 26.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, with shooting averages of 53% from FG and 42% from 3. He’s been the Robin to Jayson Tatum’s Batman, and they are HUNGRY for that NBA title.
I rank these two as a top 3 duo at this very moment, based on how they’re playing. LeBron and AD are in a league of their own, and Kawhi Leonard & Paul George have been playing lights out as well, even with Kawhi returning from his injury. However, I think Tatum & Brown have been better than KD & Kyrie (don’t look now, but the Nets have been struggling to start the year), and even with the Sixers also being 7-3, I still think Tatum & Brown’s upside surpasses them over Embiid & Simmons.

It’s still a long season ahead of us, but what Tatum & Brown are doing is extraordinary. This is a duo we haven’t seen with the C’s since the days of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. And here’s news for you folks: Tatum and Brown are only going to get better. NBA, watch out.
